Content Submission Agreement
By submitting photos, videos, tips, or any other content ("Submission") to NewsDrop, you agree to the following:
- Ownership & Rights Grant: You represent and warrant that you are the original creator of the Submission or have full authority to submit it, and that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or other rights of any third party. You irrevocably assign to NewsDrop all rights, title, and interest in the Submission, including all copyright and related rights as recognized under the Copyright Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-42), throughout the world, in perpetuity, in any medium now known or hereafter developed.
- Waiver of Moral Rights: To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, you irrevocably waive all moral rights in the Submission, including the right of attribution and the right of integrity, in favour of NewsDrop and its licensees, successors, and assigns.
- License: Where full assignment cannot be effected, you grant NewsDrop and its affiliated newsroom partners a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, broadcast, display, distribute, and create derivative works from the Submission for any editorial, promotional, or commercial purpose.
- Privacy & Personal Information: Any personal information you provide in connection with your Submission is collected and handled in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPEDA and applicable provincial equivalents. By submitting, you consent to NewsDrop sharing your Submission (and, where necessary, your identity) with its partner newsrooms and media outlets. Your contact information will not be sold or used for unsolicited commercial communication.
- Accuracy & Legality: You represent that your Submission is truthful to the best of your knowledge and does not contain content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, or otherwise unlawful under Canadian federal or provincial law.
- No Compensation: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you acknowledge that you are not entitled to any compensation, credit, or payment in exchange for your Submission.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NewsDrop, its operators, partner newsrooms, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from a breach of the representations above.
- Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
